"Regardless of the nature of each experience, always let it pass.
It may surprise you to learn that people hang on to experience by trying to analyze or understand. That just keeps the condition around by feeding it with your attention and energy. Just let it go.
If you want to move past whatever situation you are in, simply let go and then direct yourself into the kind of situation you would like to experience more."

hmm, a nice thought to begin the day with (or begin the rest of the day with since i woke up hours ago :)).
life is all about choice, right? we choose our own realities, by first realizing them within.
This quote struck me because I'm so fond of analyzing situations. But here we're being encouraged to let go of all situations past, good or bad, and instead focus on our intentions and want we want to create for ourselves.
I do see some value to reflecting on and learning from the past, but I can also see why one shouldn't dwell.
I really like what you said about choosing our own realities by first realizing them within.
this reminds me of two things.
1. as obama mentioned yesterday, "but because it is only by understanding how we arrived at this moment that we'll be able to lift ourselves out of this predicament."
2. eckhart tolle talks about the concept of "psychological time", vs. that of "clock time". basically, the latter is the time spent constructively thinking about a situation, and the former is the time spent worrying, stressing, lamenting unproductively. he also advocates that clock time is necessary for growth, but psychological time should be minimized. i think that sums it up well.
