Here are just a few Indian English expressions that have caught my attention during this visit. I'll put the Indian expression first, followed by the American translation.
1. fly over = overpass
2. flying kiss = this is when you blow a kiss
3. speed breakers = speed bumps
4. anticlockwise = counterclockwise
5. bunking school = ditching school/class

Good question. It seems that Indian English shares many expressions in common with British English, surely due to how long it was a colony. At the same time, there are plenty of other odd expressions that are probably uniquely Indian.
